Following the presentation the judging commenced and ten classes were placed before Master Judge, Mr Willie Walton, Penpeugh.

Overall Champion was the North of England Ewe from M/s Bates, Nilston Rigg shown by Annabelle and Harry Morshead.

 

Winner of the Potter Wood and Henry Walton Shears for the best presented pen of sheep was Dan Walton for the North of England Ewe Hoggs from M/s Walton, Dudlees.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Winner of the bottle of whiskey for the Overall Champion, was competitor Robert Mackay of West Hills.

STOCKJUDGING 2012

 

The North of England Branch Stockjudging Event was held at Hexham Auction Mart on Wednesday 15thFebruary 2012

The event proved very popular once again with 212 competitors taking part.

The event was sponsored by Intervet, Robson & Cowan Scots Gap, Carrs Billington Agriculture & BOCM Feeds

 

Prior to the judging a presentation was made to members of the Reece Foundation in appreciation of their most generous support to the branch.

Horned sticks, made by Mr Ken Hedley of Plenderleith, inscribed “N of E Blackface” and with individual names were presented by branch chairman James Herdman to Dr. Alan Reece, Mr. Eric Morgan and Mr. Graham Wilson.
