The first ewe lamb sale of the season at Hexham was conducted by Hexham and Northern Marts. A quality entry met an excellent trade. Prior to the sale the show was expertly judged by Mr Michael Charleton, West Raw and Mr Peter Charleton, Dues Hill. They made their awards as follows
First prize - RJ & J Raine, Townfoot, West Woodburn, Second Prize - Mr D Yeats, Close a Burn, Haltwhistle, Third Prize - RJ Coulson & Son, High Staward, Langley on Tyne.

Show and Sale of Aged Rams & Shearlings
Hexham 26th October 2009

First Prize Ram shown by A Murray & Sons, Sewingshields. A shearling by a Yatesfield sire.
Prior to the sale the Aged and Shearling Rams were expertly judged by Mr Jonjo Pattinson, Hott Bank, who made his awards as follows
First Prize - A Murray & Sons, Sewingshields, Haydon Bridge (Shearling) which went on to sell for £480
Second Prize - W & P F Walton, Penpeugh, Bardon Mill (4 shear)
Third Prize - H & H Robson Townshields, Haydon Bridge, (Shearling)
Other leading prices were as follows

Prize Show & Sale of Blackface Store Lambs

Tucker Armstrong at the sale conducted by Hexham & Northern Marts
The store lamb sale was conducted by Hexham & Northern Marts and kindly sponsored by the Blackface Sheep Breeders Association. Prior to the sale the lambs were expertly judged by Mr Tucker Armstrong, Sceughdyke, Penrith. He awarded First prize to Featherwood Partners, Featherwood which went on to sell for £46. Second prize went to H & H Robson, Townshields, Haydon Bridge which sold for £43. Third prize went to Featherwood Partners, Ridlees Northhope and sold for £44.80

Blackface Draft Ewe Sale
Hexham 1st October 2009

Best Pen of Draft Ewes at the sale conducted by Hexham & Northern Marts Hexham
The annual draft ewe sale was conducted by Hexham & Northern Marts and kindly sponsored once again by the CLA. A good show of quality ewes met an excellent trade. Prior to the sale the ewes were expertly judged by Chris Peart, Hareshaw, Bellingham. He awarded the First prize and the CLA Trophy to the pen from RJ & J Raine, Townfoot, West Woodburn which went on to sell for £95. Second prize went to W Walton & Sons, Troughend, Otterburn which sold for £82 and Third prize to Mrs V M Armstrong & Mrs C M Hunter, Carrick, Elsdon which went on to sell for £88.

The annual gimmer sale was conducted by Hexham & Northern Marts and kindly sponsored by BOCM Feeds. Prior to the sale an excellent show of gimmers was expertly judged by Philip Teasdale, Crow Hall Farms, Bardon Mill who awarded First Prize and the Trophy to the pen from R J Coulson and Son, High Staward, Langley on Tyne which went on to make £160. Second prize was awarded to R & P O'Kane, Closehead, Otterburn which also went on to sell for £160.

Champion Pen of Ewe Lambs at Hexham & Northern Marts Sale
The first Ewe Lamb Sale of the season was conducted by Hexham & Northern Marts. A quality show of lambs forward met a very fast trade.
Prior to the sale, the show was expertly judged by Mr Martyn Archer, Carry House, Wark, Hexham. He awarded First Prize and the Gordon Swan Trophy to M/S Robbie and Paul Coulson, High Staward, Langley, Hexham.
Second Prize went to Mr Dennis Yeats, Cleughfoot, Haltwhistle and Third Prize to Mr Selby Robson, Yatesfield, Otterburn.
